Automotive Service Manager

Responsibilities Lead and motivate the service department team, including technicians, advisors, and support staff, to achieve operational excellence. Oversee daily service operations, ensuring timely vehicle repairs, maintenance, and quality control. Manage customer interactions from initial greeting through service completion, ensuring a positive experience that fosters loyalty. Drive upselling efforts by recommending additional services such as transmissions, oil changes, alignments, brake repairs, tire services, shocks & struts, diesel engine repairs, and auto body work. Coordinate with technicians on automotive diagnostics and repairs using advanced tools and equipment to accurately identify issues. Prepare accurate auto estimates and service writing documentation; handle cash transactions responsibly. Maintain compliance with safety standards and dealership policies while continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes. Requirements Proven dealership experience with a strong background in auto service management. Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures including transmissions, suspensions, air brakes, alignments, oil changes, and more. Hands-on mechanic experience or familiarity with automotive repair processes is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally. Demonstrated ability in auto estimating, sales techniques, and upselling additional services. Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems such as shocks & struts, brake systems, diesel engines, tire services, and auto body repairs. Experience with service technician supervision and service writing; familiarity with cash handling procedures. Ability to lead a team effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
