Job Description
Description Supports repair technicians by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace, managing tool inventory, and performing light maintenance tasks like oil changes, tire rotations, and vehicle detailing. They assist in the shop's daily operations, which may include parts fetching, vehicle movement, and waste disposal, providing a pathway for individuals interested in learning the automotive trade. Key Responsibilities and Duties
Shop Maintenance & Safety:
Cleans and lubricates equipment; sweeps floors; manages disposal of trash, scrap metal, and used tires.Parts & Tool Management:
Distributes tools, checks equipment in/out to technicians, and monitors inventory supplies.Vehicle Support:
Performs basic maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, and battery installations, and greasing vehicles.Logistics & Moving Cars:
Moves vehicles within the lot to maximize space and shuttles vehicles for service.Assistant Duties:
Assists mechanics with repairs, brings tools/parts to bays, and cleans vehicles before delivery Qualifications and SkillsTechnical Knowledge:
Basic understanding of automotive systems, tools, and maintenance procedures.Experience:
Prior experience in an automotive shop setting or a desire to learn is highly preferred.Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a high-activity environment.Reliability:
Strong work ethic, ability to follow safety protocols (OSHA), and punctual attendance- Potential for light-duty towing (25+ age requirement) Common Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- 25+ age preferred for operating tow trucks
- Hourly wage depending on experience
