Aviation Operations Manager
Job Description:
Position Overview:
The Aviation Operations Manager leads, manages and coordinates the activities of a front-line workforce and ensures that everyone is working to provide exemplary customer service. This position is responsible for oversight of all front line business operations, including the growth of the business and overseeing all customer service, dispatch, flight training, aircraft rental, charter, sales and FBO & line service operations, as well as flight operations and maintenance. This position also works directly with our accounting department to ensure the timely completion of all invoicing, payable, receivable, and audit operations.
Position Duties:
Develop, implement, and maintain operational and maintenance protocols and procedures
Maintain a strong working relationship with all aircraft users and represent the company in matters related to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Airport Authority, State and municipal aviation authorities, community organizations, and others.
Develop and manage the aviation operations budget, including regular purchases and long-term capital planning.
Monitor and ensure the staff maintains required qualifications. Ensure record keeping of employee required qualifications.
Ensure standard operating procedures are maintained and accurate.
Ensure the maintenance and mechanical reliability of the aircraft
Manage hangar operations
Manage flight operations to ensure safe and efficient operations including the maintenance of a safety program.
Ensure flight scheduling to operate with the highest level of efficiency
Order fuel and review projections daily
Scheduling and approving bi-weekly payroll
Coordinate and manage general maintenance of facility and equipment
Assist with employee relations; reviews, counseling, disciplinary actions, terminations
Train new employees, ensure continuous training, manage logs and sign off sheets
Job Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications:
4 year college degree in Aviation or related study and/or equivalent professional experience
Possess strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
General knowledge of business management and accounting
Proficient with personal computers and Microsoft office products
