Full Job Description Job Function:

This is a working supervisory position with B-shift oversight of Lathe, Swiss and Mill departments, including closing of facility at end of shift. This position requires the direct supervision of any employees assigned to these areas. This at times will be a multiple shift operation. This position has the responsibility for all; Safety, Statutory & Regulatory compliance, Productivity, and adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS) for the area. This position is responsible for the proper identification and movement of all materials within the assigned areas.

Job Duties:

Applicant must have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to direct a team of employees in order to meet and exceed departmental & company goals. Individual will be responsible for the Safety, Quality, Productivity and Housekeeping for the Swiss, Centerless Grinding, Broaching & deburr/wash departments. Applicant must have excellent organizational skills and have the ability to effectively communicate daily and long-term goals to the workforce. Position requires experience and the knowledge of continuous improvement philosophies such as; 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Poka-Yoke, 6 Sigma and Kaizen events. Individual is responsible for promoting and soliciting continuous improvement suggestions from all employees assigned to the departments. Applicant will need to be able to run the daily operations of the departments without the need for constant supervision. Ability to coordinate the most efficient use of the direct workforce with all other area leaders in order to meet immediate company goals/schedule performance. Maintain organization, standardization and proper revision level for all setup sheets and programs required for the area. Coordinate proper digital storage of programs and setup sheets. Maintain all tooling assigned to the area. Work with engineering on all Frist Time Through (FTR) products and ensure accuracy of documentation. Complete FTR sheets for feedback to engineering. Overall skills needed to be successful:

• Ability to set up & operate one or more pieces of equipment in Swiss, Lathe or Mill area
• Knowledge of all secondary operations; grinding, broaching, tumbling, sand blaster, etc.
• Broad base of knowledge in machining various metals and plastics.
• Ability to read blue prints including Geometric Tolerance.
• In depth knowledge of cutting tools and cutting fluids.
• Hands on experience with all required inspection equipment; (mics, Vernier's, comparator, height gages, etc.)
• Ability to troubleshoot process and equipment in an effective manner.
• Ability to work as a team player with multiple departments; (Production Control, Quality, Maintenance, Mill, Lathe, Molding, & Human Resources.

Qualifications:

• 5+ yrs experience in Swiss, Lathe or Mill Machining.
• 2+ yrs supervisory experience.
• Ability to set up & operate one or more pieces of equipment in Swiss, Lathe or Mill area.
• Preferred experience with Mastercam, Part Maker and MS Office.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Continuous improvement philosophy and mechanics.
