Band / Chorus Teacher

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the school curriculum and meet the individual needs of students
• Provide engaging, rigorous, and developmentally appropriate music instruction to students in grades K-8
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and fosters student engagement
• Use effective behavior management strategies to address challenging behaviors and promote a positive classroom atmosphere
• Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure the success of all students
• Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians
• Utilize technology and other instructional resources to enhance student learning
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education

Skills:

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of students with autism or other special needs
• Knowledge of early intervention techniques and strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs
• Experience working with children in an educational or tutoring setting
• Familiarity with education administration and policies
• Ability to effectively manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
