This position is crucial in providing leadership in customer service, ensuring operational compliance, and fostering staff development, all with the goal of enhancing the branch's performance and ensuring adherence to the bank's policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development:
Assist in the supervision, training, and development of branch staff, ensuring team members meet performance expectations and adhere to best practices. Lead, mentor, and inspire the retail branch team, modeling expected behaviors and promoting a positive and productive work culture. Foster teamwork, respect, and collaboration within the team. Ensure that all staff are trained on new products, services, and regulatory compliance, and assist with conducting performance reviews and providing continuous learning opportunities.
Customer Service Excellence & Sales:
Act as a role model in delivering exceptional customer service, resolving issues promptly and professionally. Ensure the retail operations team consistently provides high levels of customer service and meets customers' needs efficiently, building strong, lasting relationships. Lead by example in recommending and referring bank products and services, reinforcing a culture of referrals and sales.
Teller & Operational Support:
Assist the Branch Manager in overseeing daily branch operations, including new account and teller activities, managing staff schedules, ensuring branch compliance with policies, and implementing operational changes. Perform all retail operations functions, such as: Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) transactions. Handling loan-related inquiries and assisting with consumer loan applications. Collaborate with the Branch Manager on management decisions for the retail banking branch. Assist in meeting branch performance goals, including sales, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Help implement and track branch initiatives, providing feedback to improve branch performance.
Compliance & Internal Controls:
Oversee cash handling procedures and ensure security protocols are followed. Assist with audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations and the bank's internal policies. Monitor daily operations to ensure adherence to company policies and compliance with risk management standards. Ensure proper internal controls and perform audit functions to maintain operational integrity. Maintain adequate cash levels and ensure appropriate handling in accordance with policies. Monitor transactions for potential fraud or discrepancies, taking corrective actions when necessary. Stay up-to-date on federal and state banking compliance regulations and ensure adherence to them.
Branch Operations Management & Administrative Duties:
Assist in maintaining operational processes to enhance branch productivity, working to streamline workflows and resolve operational issues. Assume responsibility for supervising the branch in the manager's absence. Conduct regular meetings with the branch team to ensure operational efficiency. Manage administrative tasks to ensure accuracy and operational effectiveness. Order branch supplies and serve as a Notary Public. Perform other duties as assigned.
