Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Banquet Captain specializing in Weddings and Events to lead our banquet service team with enthusiasm and professionalism. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the seamless execution of wedding receptions and special events, ensuring exceptional guest experiences from start to finish. Your leadership will inspire staff, coordinate event details, and uphold the highest standards of food service, hospitality, and safety. Duties Lead and supervise banquet staff during weddings and events, ensuring efficient service delivery and guest satisfaction Coordinate with event planners, kitchen staff, and management to execute event timelines flawlessly Oversee food presentation, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and are served promptly Manage setup, breakdown, and cleanliness of banquet spaces in accordance with event specifications Handle guest inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and maintain a positive atmosphere throughout the event Monitor inventory levels of food, beverages, linens, and supplies; assist with inventory control and ordering as needed Train new team members on service protocols, safety procedures, and food handling standards Skills Extensive experience in food service management within banquet, catering, or hospitality settings Strong leadership skills with proven supervising experience in fast-paced environments like quick service or fine dining restaurants Knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary standards, and food safety regulations Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle guest concerns diplomatically Ability to manage shift schedules, oversee kitchen operations, and coordinate team training & development Familiarity with inventory control practices, budgeting, and food production processes Experience in restaurant management or hotel banquet operations is highly desirable Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise between staff members and clients Leadership qualities that foster teamwork, motivate staff, and ensure smooth event execution Must have weekend availability Banquet Captain will get a flat rate of $25 per hour
