Banquet Chef/ Line Cook/Prep Cook for Banquet Facility The Riverview Weatogue, CT Job Details Part-time | Full-time $19 - $22 an hour 15 hours ago Qualifications Grilling Kitchen knives Cleaning cooking equipment High school diploma or GED Attention to detail Food preparation Kitchen stations Kitchen equipment maintenance Food preparation equipment operation Full Job Description The Riverview is seeking Line Cooks & Prep Cooks! Responsibilities and Duties You must be able to work proficiently and efficiently in a busy scratch kitchen, work well with others and be willing to help out on all stations in the kitchen. We are willing to teach you new responsibilities and new cooking techniques as long as you are willing to learn from those around you. A good candidate will be required to immediately contribute and must have the skills to comfortably work grille, sauté and pantry.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Two or more years of Culinary or Line Cook experience High school education, GED, or equivalent experience; Culinary degree a plus. Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed. Must have employment eligibility in the U.S. Must have reliable transportation Ability to operate, clean, maintain most commercial kitchen equipment. Knowledge of cooking techniques; knife skills; attention to detail.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend and use hands to handle objects, tools or controls. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work the majority of shift in a standing position.
