Barista / Cook 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Lenox, MA 01240 $16.50 an hour Courtyard By Marriott 26,154 reviews $16.50 an hour Position Summary The Barista / Cook is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience through preparing and serving quality beverages and food items while maintaining food safety, cleanliness, and operational standards. This position supports both front-of-house and back-of-house operations and requires flexibility to work across multiple functions based on business needs. Essential Functions Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware. Knowledge of all menu items, prices and methods of preparation. Use suggestive selling techniques to encourage the guests to choose items that are house specialties. Clean or sanitize work areas, utensils, or equipment. Clean service or seating areas. Check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, or heating equipment to ensure proper functioning. Serve food and beverage items to customers in a friendly, enthusiastic, professional, and timely manner. Follow 4 Keys service standards, standard operation procedures, and safety standards. Follow safety and security procedures. Work cohesively with co-workers and all departments as part of a team. Follow all additional duties as assigned by management. Skills and Abilities Must adhere to the company's Service culture - 4 Keys to creating guests for life. Must participate in all required meetings and training. Prepare and serve coffee and tea drinks that meet quality standards. Properly handle and maintain all equipment. Respond to orders, questions, concerns, and constructive feedback in a polite and efficient manner. Accurately handle cash and credit card payments, following appropriate cash-handling procedures. Serve customers quickly and efficiently. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and able to multitask. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all the menu offerings and must be able to make recommendations. Observe relevant health and safety standards. Ensure that the opening/closing duties are complete as per protocol. Have a thorough knowledge of all the retail items. Abide by all policies and safety rules. Perform other duties as requested by management.
Job Qualifications/Requirements Education:
High School diploma or GED equivalence
Experience:
1 year experience in a similar role
Additional:
Will be required to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs
