Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Barrel Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in the production process, ensuring that barrels are handled efficiently and safely within our production facility. This position requires a strong attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Operate and manage the movement of barrels throughout the production area. Utilize forklifts and other power tools to transport materials safely. Fill barrels from process tanks, reduce process tanks down to desired proof, roll barrels onto truck for transport to palletized warehouse or rickhouse. Support tracking, monitoring, and reporting for productivity, safety, and quality. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Complete barrel inventory and audit sheets daily, place newly filled barrels in warehouse ricks using ricker and maintain good housekeeping in process room and warehouse. Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines. Utilize hand tools for various tasks as required. Experience Previous factory or warehouse experience is preferred. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and assembly line operations is highly desirable. Mechanical knowledge is a plus, enabling effective troubleshooting of equipment issues. Experience operating forklifts and using power tools safely is essential. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual productivity. Physical Requirements Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms. Must be capable of physical labor (including bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, etc. on a regular basis. Must be capable of regular heavy lifting (able to lift at least 50 lbs. and moving 500 lb. barrels) Physical requirements include regular standing, using hand and arms to reach, handle and feel objects or tools. Employees are frequently required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, occasionally required to climb or balance. Employee must be able to physically navigate the plant environment, including the repetitive climbing of stairs and elevated walkways up to 5 stories high. Will be required to work in hazardous or irritating environments, confined spaces, and adverse weather or temperature conditions, and work in personnel protective equipment. Must be capable of regular attendance and working various shifts, including but not limited to 12-hour shifts, and overtime hours as needed. Must be able to head-up barrels (stand on end) in trucks for transport warehouse/off-site location and drive a box truck/truck and trailer to and from warehouses.

Barrels can weigh up to approximately 500 pounds and are moved using equipment and/or team assistance. Are you able to safely maneuver barrels as required? This position requires lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds repeatedly, with or without reasonable accommodation. Are you able to perform these essential functions safely?
