Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities:
The Grill Room Bartender is a key part of the member experience at Fiddler's Elbow. This is a fast-paced, social, hands-on position focused on great drinks, polished service, teamwork, and creating memorable experiences for our members and guests. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hospitality, wants to grow their beverage knowledge, and takes pride in being part of a professional bar team. Bartenders will prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages while helping maintain a clean, organized, and high-performing bar environment. The Grill Room Bar is also home to a growing New Jersey Craft Beer Program, giving bartenders the opportunity to work with rotating local breweries, seasonal beer selections, draft beer service, and member education. Learn:
As part of the Fiddler's Elbow bar team, you will have opportunities to learn and build skills in: Craft cocktail preparation. Classic cocktails and proper bartendingtechnique. Premium spirits, including bourbon, whiskey, tequila, gin, rum, and Scotch. New Jersey craft beer, local breweries, and rotating draft selections. Draft beer systems, keg changes, beer line awareness, and proper beer service. Beer style knowledge, tasting notes, and member recommendations. Wine service and bottle presentation. High-volume service during golf outings and club events. Private event and banquet bar setup. Member service, hospitality, and professional communication. Inventory organization, bar prep, stocking, and daily bar operations. Essential Functions:
Interact with members, guests, and fellow employees in a respectful and professional manner. Create a welcoming, polished, and energetic bar experience for members and guests. Accurately describe menu items, specials, cocktails, wine, spirits, and beer selections. Learn and speak confidently about the Grill Room's New Jersey Craft Beer Program. Assess members, guest needs,and make thoughtful beverage recommendations. Take orders and accurately enter them into thePoint of Salesystem. Mix, garnish, and serve beverages according to club standards using provided measuring tools. Prepare drinks for servers ina timelyand professional manner. Professionally present, open, and serve wine bottles. Properly pour draft beer and bottled/canned beer according to club standards. Restock beer, wine, liquor, fruit, garnishes, glassware, and bar supplies. Change beer kegs andassistwithmaintainingorganized draft storage areas. Check identification to confirmlegaldrinking age. Abide by New Jersey lawsregardingservice to minors and intoxicated patrons. Comply withall food and beverage safety and sanitation procedures. Keep the bar, soda room, liquor cage, receiving dock, and walk-in fridge clean and organized. Sanitize ice wells according to schedule. Assistwith the setup and breakdown of events, including moving mobile bars, alcohol, beer, glassware, and supplies. Report equipment problems to managers. Collaborate with other departments tomaintainservice excellence. Complete other duties assigned by managers.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Previousbartending, serving, restaurant, country club, brewery, taproom, or hospitality experience is preferred. High School Graduate or equivalent preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age. TIPS certification is preferred. Interest in craft beer, cocktails, spirits, wine, or hospitality is strongly preferred. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with members, guests, and coworkers. Ability to understand and speak the predominant language of our members and guests. Must be a team player, self-motivated, and able to work effectively under pressure. Must be able tomaintainhigh service standards during busy periods. Must be willing to learn club standards, drink recipes, beer selections, and proper service procedures. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Ability to stand and walk forlong periodsof time. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 30+lbs.,including kegs, cases, ice, and bar supplies. Ability to move through crowded rooms while carrying trays, glassware, bottles, or supplies. Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, polish, clean, and organize throughout the shift. Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor environments. May be exposed to heat from cooking areas, outdoor weather conditions, and sharp objects such as flatware and glassware.
