Pearland TX About SCORE Basketball Academy SCORE Basketball Academy is a year‑round player development program designed to give athletes affordable, flexible, high‑quality training and more time in the gym. Our system focuses on skill development, confidence building, basketball IQ, and creating a positive, structured environment for athletes in grades 3-8. We are expanding our coaching team and looking for trainers who can deliver high‑energy, high‑quality classes using our Academy curriculum and training system. Position Overview We are seeking a Basketball Trainer to lead group training sessions, teach fundamental and advanced skills, and create a positive learning environment for young athletes beginner-Experienced athletes ages 8-14. Trainers will follow the SCORE Academy class framework and deliver consistent, structured sessions that align with our development model. This role is ideal for former players, current coaches, trainers, or anyone passionate about youth development and teaching the game the right way. Responsibilities Lead group training classes using the SCORE Academy curriculum Teach fundamentals including ball handling, finishing, shooting, footwork, defense, and IQ Maintain high energy, clear communication, and positive reinforcement Manage groups of 8-20 athletes with structure and control Provide individual feedback while keeping the class flowing Ensure a safe, organized, and encouraging training environment Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled sessions Communicate professionally with parents when needed Track attendance and follow Academy procedures Represent SCORE Academy high character values and culture at all times Qualifications Experience playing or coaching basketball (youth, high school, college, or higher) Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and teaching progression Ability to lead groups confidently and maintain structure Positive, energetic, and athlete‑focused coaching style Reliable, professional, and committed to consistency Ability to follow a structured training system CPR/First Aid certification (preferred but not required) Must pass a background check Schedule & Hours Estimated 6-8 hours per week Weekday evenings and/or weekend availability Consistent weekly hours once assigned to classes Additional hours may become available as the Academy grows What We Provide Full training on the SCORE Academy system and class framework A structured curriculum for every class type Supportive coaching environment Opportunities for additional hours and advancement Clear expectations, communication, and leadership A chance to impact young athletes in a meaningful way How to Apply Submit your resume and a brief description of your basketball or coaching experience.
