As a Beam Line Operator (Level 1), you will play a key role in the production process by operating machinery to drill and fabricate steel components. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to learn new skills in a supportive environmentno prior experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided. Responsibilities Operate beam line machinery and related equipment to drill, cut, and fabricate steel parts according to production goals and specifications. Prepare jobs for quality control inspection, ensuring accuracy in quantity and quality. Assist with basic fabrication tasks, including sawing, drilling, and punching holes in steel shapes. Label jobs with customer and project information as required. Perform quality checks on all orders and report any discrepancies or damaged items to the supervisor. Transport materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, and hoists (training provided). Maintain a clean and organized work area, following housekeeping procedures. Read and interpret job packets, blueprints, and process documentation (training provided). Assist with inventory checks and material staging as needed. Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on beam line machinery (training provided). Work collaboratively with team members and assist others with equipment operation once trained. Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies. Be available to work at least 40 hours per week, with overtime and shift flexibility as required. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Willingness to learn new skills and processes; no prior experience required. Basic math skills and ability to learn to read a tape measure, calipers, and blueprints. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team setting. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, stand or walk for up to 10 hours per day, and perform tasks such as bending, kneeling, and reaching. Willingness to work in various weather conditions and around moving machinery, noise, and airborne particles. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Compensation $20.00 $25.00 per hour , based on experience and qualifications.
