Job Description
Hopewell Health Centers is a nationally accredited federally qualified health and community mental health center with 23 sites across TEN counties throughout Southeastern Ohio (Athens, Franklin, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Meigs, Perry, Ross, Vinton, and Washington). We are currently seeking a Behavior Specialist to join our REACH (youth treatment program) team located in Vincent, OH . •We are currently seeking two (2) Full Time Behavior Specialists to serve our REACH program in Washington County. As a Behavior Specialist , you will be responsible for direct care and supervision of the youth in the partial hospitalization program (REACH) in Vincent/Barlow, OH. Behavior Specialists work with at risk youth ranging in ages from 8-18. These services are provided in a classroom/group setting and require care planning capabilities. Behavior Specialists must be able to work collaboratively with children and adolescents, family members and other service providers. What do we look for in our Behavior Specialists?? Eligible to work in the United Stated Experience and/or training working with at risk youth in a residential setting. Bachelor's degree in mental health or closely related field preferred. A valid driver's license, good driving record, and vehicle suitable for transportation. (Must have a minimum of 3 years driving experience and be at least 21 years of age) Ability to verbally de-escalate youth who regularly experience acute symptoms of mental illness Complete verbal de-escalation and physical intervention training and show adequate skills in these areas Must possess the ability to work closely with clients and team members in problem solving; ability to work responsibly, ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form.
