Job Description
The Eating Disorder Clinician provides individual, group, and family therapy to patients diagnosed with eating disorders (e.g., Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, ARFID) within a multidisciplinary team framework. The clinician collaborates closely with medical staff, dietitians, and other behavioral health providers to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address both the psychological and medical complexities of eating disorders. Conduct initial biopsychosocial assessments for patients seeking behavioral health services to determine need for treatment of eating disorders. Complete and analyze evidenced based screening tools and assessments. Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group psychotherapy (e.g., CBT-E, DBT, FBT/Maudsley Approach). Along with patient, develop treatment plans for patient, including clear problem statement, treatment goal(s),with measurable, relevant objectives for a range of eating disorder concerns. Engages families and caregivers in treatment planning and psychoeducation. Collaborate with dietitians, psychiatrists, medical providers, and nursing staff to ensure holistic and coordinated care. Completes required documentation and charting of patient encounters in a timely manner. Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current on best practices in the field of eating disorders. Meets with supervisor for clinical supervision, participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care, concerns and planning. Advocates for patients and assist them in accessing community resources. Completes all mandatory AHS trainings and competencies as assigned. Qualifications - Master's degree in social work, Psychology or Counseling LCSW or LPC license required. 1-2 years' experience with eating disorder patient population required. Working knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities, such as CBT-E, DBT and FBT Understanding of medical and psychiatric comorbidities commonly associated with eating disorders Bilingual a plus Competencies - Demonstrate considerable expertise in the area of eating disorders. Participates in interdisciplinary collaboration between supervisor(s), dieticians, physicians and psychiatric providers. Understanding of the medical and nutritional aspects of eating disorders is beneficial. Develops individualized treatment plans with measurable, patient centered goals, utilizes evidence based therapeutic approaches appropriate to the presenting problem(s). Can build rapport and trust quickly with a range of patients, uses active listening skills, reflective statements and nonjudgemental language, conveys understanding and acceptance without reinforcing maladaptive behaviors. Maintains clear, timely and accurate clinical notes that meet legal and departmental standards, manages caseload effectively. Upholds professional ethical standards, maintains appropriate boundaries and therapeutic relationships.
