Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to support individuals with diverse mental health needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, with experience in behavioral health settings, working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and PTSD. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient support, implementing treatment plans, and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. Your expertise in crisis intervention, behavior management, and medical documentation will contribute significantly to positive patient outcomes. Duties Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's behavioral health needs. Monitor and document patient behaviors, vital signs, and progress accurately in medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Provide direct patient care including medication administration under supervision, and support with daily activities. Conduct intake and collect data to inform treatment strategies and track behavioral changes over time. Apply behavior management techniques and applied behavior analysis (ABA) strategies to promote positive behaviors. Respond promptly to crises or emergencies using crisis intervention and crisis management protocols to ensure safety for patients and staff. Support patients with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD, and addiction counseling as needed. Collaborate with social workers, medical professionals, and family members to coordinate comprehensive care plans. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to all safety protocols, sanitation standards, and confidentiality regulations. Experience Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to perform crisis intervention and crisis management effectively in high-pressure situations. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation procedures, and medical records management. Experience administering medication safely following prescribed protocols. Familiarity with applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior management techniques, and special education principles. Background in social work or behavioral health services is preferred. Strong communication skills for engaging with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams effectively. Ability to collect accurate data, maintain detailed records, and adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations.
