Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Benefits Specialist to join our Human Resources team. In this pivotal role, you will manage and administer employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while providing exceptional support to our workforce. Your expertise will help foster a positive employee experience by delivering accurate benefits information, streamlining processes, and maintaining data integrity across multiple HR systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence employee satisfaction and organizational compliance through proactive benefits administration and strategic communication. Duties Benefits Administration Administer daily benefits operations including enrollments, life events, terminations, and eligibility updates. Maintain accurate employee benefit records across HRIS and vendor platforms. Review and reconcile benefit deductions, invoices, and carrier files. Coordinate with payroll to ensure deductions align with plan elections. Troubleshoot eligibility, enrollment, and file feed issues. HRIS & Systems Expertise (ADP-Focused) Maintain benefit plans, eligibility rules, and event processing within ADP or similar HRIS. Support testing, validation, and implementation of system changes and updates. Audit system data to ensure accuracy and compliance. Assist with file feeds and integrations between HRIS and vendors (carriers, COBRA, FSA/HSA administrators, retirement vendors). Open Enrollment Assist with system setup, testing, and validation. Assist in developing employee communications, guides, and FAQs. Monitor enrollment activity and resolve participant issues. Validate elections and carrier transmission files post-enrollment. Compliance & Reporting Support compliance with federal, state, and local benefits regulations (ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, etc.). Prepare reports and audits for internal stakeholders or vendors. Maintain documentation and procedures for benefits processes. Assist with annual filings, audits, and required notices. Employee Support Respond to employee benefit inquiries in a timely, professional manner. Educate employees on plan options, enrollment processes, and system navigation. Escalate complex issues to Benefits Manager or vendors as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field; professional certifications (e.g., CEBS, SHRM-CP /SCP) a plus. 2-5 years of experience in benefits administration Hands-on experience configuring and administering benefits within ADP (Workforce Now or similar platform). Strong technical aptitude with HRIS systems and data analysis. Experience working with benefit carriers and vendor integrations. Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Strong understanding of benefits regulations and compliance requirements (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, ADA, FMLA, etc.). Experience supporting multi-state or multi-entity organizations. Knowledge of payroll processes related to benefits deductions. Experience with file feeds, EDI transmissions, or system testing. Familiarity with ACA reporting and compliance processes. Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality. Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
