Our primary focus is creating exceptional hospitality and memorable experiences for traveling guests from around the world.
Sommelier Role Summary:
As the Sommelier for La Brasserie Vail, you will be the custodian of our extensive wine cellar. You will guide guests through our curated selection of French and international wines, enhancing their dining experience with expert pairings and deep, yet accessible, knowledge.
Responsibilities:
Curate and manage the restaurant's wine list, focusing on classic French regions (Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhône, Champagne) alongside exceptional global selections. Provide expert wine service to guests, making the experience enjoyable and relaxed. Conduct staff training on wine knowledge, pairings, and service techniques. Manage wine inventory, ordering, receiving, and cellar organization. Assist guests with wine selections that perfectly complement their meal, tailored to their preferences and knowledge level.
Qualifications:
Certified Sommelier (Court of Master Sommeliers or equivalent) strongly preferred. Extensive knowledge of French wine regions, varietals, and vintages. Proven experience in upscale wine service. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to eloquently and approachably discuss wine with guests of all knowledge levels, ensuring a comfortable experience.
Role Summary:
The Assistant Restaurant Manager is a key leader in ensuring the operational excellence of La Brasserie Vail. You will partner with the Operating Director to manage daily operations, oversee staff training and development, and uphold our high standards of service while maintaining a warm, approachable environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily Front of House (FOH) operations, ensuring a seamless and relaxed service flow. Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing FOH team, fostering a culture of excellence, warmth, and teamwork. Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback to employees to support their professional growth and ensure service standards are met. Manage employee scheduling to ensure optimal coverage while balancing labor costs. Review, approve, and manage employee timesheets, ensuring accurate payroll processing and that all employees are paid on time and in compliance with regulations. Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, prioritizing genuine hospitality. Assist in managing inventory, labor costs, and operational budgets. Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards. Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure seamless communication between FOH and BOH.
Qualifications:
1-3 years of management experience in an upscale or fine dining environment. Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, and bar products, ideally with an understanding of French cuisine and dining etiquette adaptable to a mountain casual setting. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to coach and motivate a team. Proficiency in restaurant management software (e.g., POS, scheduling, inventory, payroll, and timesheet management systems). Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
