Medical Assistant Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and detail‑oriented Medical Assistant to join our busy clinic. This role is essential in delivering efficient, high‑quality patient care while supporting both clinical and front‑office operations in a fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities Accurately collect and document patient demographics and medical histories Triage patients based on presenting symptoms and urgency of care needs Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and oxygen levels Assist with maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date electronic medical records (EMR) Perform phlebotomy and other clinical procedures as required Provide patient education, instructions, and support Schedule appointments and assist with front desk operations as needed Verify insurance information and ensure accurate documentation for billing purposes Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow Required Qualifications Minimum 1 year of experience in a fast‑paced clinic or urgent care environment Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and clinical workflows Excellent customer service and communication skills Additional Qualifications Medical Assistant Certification , Registration, or Diploma High School Diploma or equivalent Reliable transportation Experience with appointment scheduling and patient care coordination Preferred (Not Required) Bilingual (English/Spanish a plus) Experience with spirometry testing & phlebotomy BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred Work Environment & Schedule Onsite position at a primary care/urgent care clinic Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM , with potential for overtime May require floating to other clinic locations based on operational needs Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of DeBary, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
