POSITION SUMMARY
Our Benefit Design Group team has a full-time opportunity for a Reconciliation Analyst - Broker Contracting in our Owings Mills, Maryland office. Responsible for reconciling the Carrier Invoices to the Premium payments received from employer groups, identifying at the subscriber level the differences in the invoiced and the paid amounts versus the Carrier Invoices. This includes all access to carrier sites, maintaining access and carrier billing relationships. The goal is to ensure monthly accuracy of all BDG Group invoices with any discrepancies settled within 60 days of the bill. As a member of the Virginia Farm Bureau Family of Companies, Benefit Design Group serves our clients with strong customer service and administration in agent training, licensing, assistance and planning across more than 2,000 client groups.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately prepares and records discrepancy information between billed invoices from the groups compared to the monthly carrier invoices for the group. Perform research, reconciliation and resolution of all account discrepancies that originate from group, enrollment, installation, system or carriers' errors. Process reconciliation changes on/line or directly with carrier Rep's and BDG Staff. Act as a Liaison between carrier and applicable Broker resolving documentation, rate, headcount, timeliness, etc. issues. Analyzes group account issues to determine root causes to contribute to continuous process improvements. Maintain up-to-date on-line/personal access with all applicable carriers/carrier representatives. Initiate changes that drive efficiencies while continuing a balanced relationship with all parties. Supports special projects as needed by management Manage high volume of carrier reconciliation projects while handling urgent cases where group may get coverage terminated. Provide internal and external customer support Coordinate scanning/image retrieval as required Maintain records of monthly reconciliations Assist with monthly billing, reporting and reconciliation of bank accounts. Audit daily incoming daily ACH deposits. Process daily EFT payment transactions. Answer incoming billing calls. Serve as backup to Billing & Reconciliation Supervisor. All other duties as assigned by Manager
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL, EXPERIENCE & SKILL QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent Advanced MS Office Excel skills Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to communicate complex information Excellent organizational skills Proven customer focus
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associates degree in Accounting, Business with accounting and finance related training or related discipline required 3 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for degree. Relevant experience includes general accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts receivable, customer account reconciliations, cash flow analysis and cash application accounting functions.
