Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented BIM Structural Drafter to join our dynamic design team. In this role, you will be instrumental in translating structural engineering concepts into precise, comprehensive digital models using Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. Your expertise will ensure that structural designs are accurately represented, coordinated, and ready for construction, fostering seamless collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects while honing your drafting skills in a fast-paced, creative environment.
Duties Model & Document Development:
Utilize Autodesk Revit , Autodesk AutoCAD , and Autodesk Forma to develop comprehensive structural models and detailed construction documents.
Engineering Integration:
Interpret and translate engineering markups and sketches into accurate BIM models, documentation, and technical details.
Internal Coordination:
Collaborate closely with LFA engineering team members to ensure all models and documentation are fully coordinated per the consultant's design intent and firm standards.
Project Versatility:
Manage drafting and modeling tasks across multiple project sectors, including high-end residential, large-scale multi-family, and complex seismic retrofits.
Technical Accuracy:
Ensure all documentation and details are represented accurately and clearly for construction.
Requirements Software Proficiency Autodesk Revit:
Expert-level proficiency is a must for modeling and documentation.
Autodesk AutoCAD:
Mastery of AutoCAD for detailing and legacy documentation.
Autodesk Forma:
Proficiency in using Forma for site analysis and early-stage structural planning. Industry Knowledge (Material Based)
Structural Materials:
Demonstrated experience in the drafting and detailing of: Reinforced Concrete and Masonry Structural Steel.
Wood / Mass
Timber. Cold-Formed Steel (CFS).
Framing Systems:
Deep knowledge of structural framing concepts and how different materials interface.
Construction Drawings:
Superior ability to read, interpret, and cross-reference architectural and engineering construction drawings.
Professional Attributes Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate seamless coordination within the engineering team.
Fast-Paced Delivery:
Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy while working on multiple projects with tight deadlines.
Sector Experience:
Familiarity with the unique requirements of Seismic Retrofit/Adaptive Re-use , Institutional/Sports , and Affordable Housing projects.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
