Job Description
NOW HIRING & TRAINING NEW SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS METS
- Midwest Educational Transportation Services is hiring and training new school bus drivers for assignments at Blissfield Community Schools.Qualifications:
No experience necessary. Paid training is provided.- Must be 21 years or older and 5 years driving experience
- Paid training is provided for qualified candidates who enjoy working with children, have a safe driving record and can pass DOT physical & drug testing requirements.
- Ability to develop and maintain a professional rapport with students, parents, staff, and the community.
- Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Shows proficiency in handling and maneuvering a school bus, safely and professionally, while supervising students, training provided and updated.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in written format in a clear, concise manner; Ability to work in a friendly manner with co-workers and students. Ability to read and understand maps.
- Perform duties with awareness to all district requirements and board of education policies while modeling district standards of ethics and professionalism; implement policy and procedural changes from administration, the board of education, or state/federal changes.
- Uphold the school/transportation discipline plan while providing students with clear expectations, a system of positive reinforcement and sequential, consistent, progressive consequences.
- Must be able to perform the physical demands of this position, which includes working outside, sitting, standing, talking, seeing, and hearing. Occasionally, it will be expected to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motions many times and push or lift up to 75 lbs.
- Performs other functions and duties as assigned by the supervisor.
