WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

(Job Overview): When you join ourteamyou will beutilizingyourCDL andcustomer service skills toassistwith every step of the blood collection process. This includes collaborating with your team to transport and setup equipment at the collection sites in local communities, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for volunteer donors, and following all safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations that are delivered to hospitals. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCEFORGOOD

(Key Responsibilities): Safely transport blood collection equipment, setup and tear down site in collaboration with team members. Take the time to personally connect with donors - listen to their stories and help them understandhow impactful their donation is. Collaborate with your teammates to create a welcoming and friendlyenvironmentso our volunteer donors feel comfortable coming backagain and again. Be detailed oriented all day, every day. Thisensuresthat the blood you collect meets goals, regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused

Standard Schedule:

(Saint Paul, Minnesota) To best meet the needs of our donors andcommunity,staffworkavariable schedulewhich may includeearly mornings, late nights, weekends,and holidays.

Overnight travel may berequiredin some locations. Schedule is providedtwo to threeweeks in advance

Pay Information:

Starting rate $24.57/hour.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

(Minimum Qualifications): High school diploma or equivalentisrequired Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills arerequired A current, valid driver's license with Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) andagood drivingrecord isrequired. Experience driving large vehiclesis stronglypreferred. DOT certificationisrequired,youmust pass applicable DOT physical and related requirements and be able topossessor obtain a medical certification of at least one-year duration. Physical requirements may include the ability to lift,pushor pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand forlong periodsof time and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changesarerequired.

Position may requirea minimumheight of 60 inches to ensure the ability to safelyoperateRed Cross vehicles. At the American Red Cross, we conduct many mobile blood drives at businesses,schoolsand many other locations. All staff work as a team to setup and tear down the equipmentrequiredto conduct a mobile blood drive. Basic computer skills arerequired. Must be proficient with Microsoft office applications.
