Job Description
Mon-Fri:
12:00pm - 3:00pm) View Job Description Requirements /Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Current valid California State License as a Licensed Vocational Nurse
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certification
- Ability to obtain a First Aid and CPR Instructor Certification within one (1) year of hire
- Valid CA driver's license
- Any combination equivalent to one (1) year of related experience; public school experience preferred.
Brief Description of Position:
- Perform specialized health care services for students including but not limited to blood sugar testing, medication administration, catheterizations, drip and tube feeding administration.
- Travel to various school sites within the district and perform a wide variety of nursing duties.
- Assess illnesses and injuries and apply first aid as needed.
- Respond to emergencies, evaluated condition of students and provide information to staff, students and parents regarding safety issues.
- Operate specialized medical equipment and instruments in the assessment and treatment of individuals.
- Assess and assist students with seizures; check for head lice, skin abnormalities and other conditions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
