In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers and insurance adjusters, accurately assessing vehicle damage and preparing comprehensive repair estimates. Your expertise will ensure seamless communication between customers, technicians, and insurance providers, helping to deliver exceptional service and efficient repairs. Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to assess the extent of repairs needed, utilizing automotive diagnostics tools and mechanical expertise. Prepare detailed, accurate auto estimates for body repairs, mechanical work, and other services. Communicate clearly with customers to explain repair procedures, costs, and timelines while providing excellent customer service throughout the process. Collaborate with technicians and mechanics to ensure all necessary repairs are identified and properly estimated. Work closely with insurance adjusters to facilitate smooth claims processing and approve additional work when necessary. Upsell additional services such as vehicle maintenance or enhancements that benefit the customer while increasing shop revenue through effective sales techniques. Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately during payment processing and maintain detailed records of all transactions. Keep detailed documentation of estimates, repairs, and customer interactions in compliance with company policies. Performing detail check-ins and final inspection to ensure all jobs leave looking better than they arrived and repairs are performed safely and properly. Experience Proven dealership experience or background in auto service management is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, repair procedures, and vehicle maintenance. Familiarity with auto estimating software and service writing processes is essential. Experience in automotive repair specialties such as transmissions, oil changes, brake systems, suspension work, tire service, shocks & struts, alignment, air brakes, diesel engines, or auto body repair is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining excellent customer relationships. Previous service technician experience combined with a solid understanding of automotive diagnostics enhances your ability to accurately assess vehicle conditions. Excellent communication skills coupled with cash handling experience ensure professional interactions with customers and insurance representatives alike.
