We cater logistics strategies and processes to our customers' needs by utilizing the latest information systems and advanced technologies. Summary Perform minor bodywork, priming, and paint vehicles back to factory standards as well as wet sand and buff vehicles after the refinishing process. Must be available for overtime. Responsibilities Primary Prep Vehicles Inspects body work prior to painting and prep vehicles for paint Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated Inspect vehicle damage Apply mask tape over vehicle parts Buffer Sand Primer Bondo Paint Vehicles to Factory Standards Check color codes selects toners and mixes paint and performs spray outs of all colors being used. Sprays surfaces of vehicles back to factory standards then applies clear coat. Use of PPG Color Match System Inspect body work prior to painting Mix paint to produce desired color Paint vehicle inside Heated spray booth (temp of 90-160 F) Secondary Tool & Material Maintenance Cleans spraying equipment with solvent Clean spraying equipment with solvents Disposal of paint / materials Other duties as assigned Assist in other production departments as needed. Education & Experience High School Diploma/G.E.D Required Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive paint required PPG Envirobase and PPG Colormatch System trained required Must hold a valid state-issued driver's license without restrictions Required Knowledge and Skills Understanding of Factory Paint Standards Understanding of best practice regarding Body Shop prepping and painting Use of hand-held and power tools required Ability to drive both automatic and stick shift vehicles Required Use of hand-held and power tools Required Quality Control Analysis - Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance required Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems required Glovis America, Inc. adheres to the equal employment opportunity guidelines set forth by federal, state, and local laws.
