Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our team. In this vital role, you will manage and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting the organization's financial health. Your expertise will help streamline bookkeeping processes, facilitate accurate reporting, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our financial operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about accounting to make a meaningful impact within a collaborative environment. Duties Record, classify, and reconcile financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections. Prepare and post journal entries accurately, including debits & credits, to maintain the integrity of the general ledger. Conduct bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations regularly to verify account accuracy. Perform balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Assist with payroll processing and related tax filings, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations. Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses against forecasts and preparing financial reports as needed. Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant standards. Generate financial reports including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for management review. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations by preparing necessary documentation and supporting audits when required. Handle governmental accounting tasks related to grants or public funding if applicable. Perform account analysis to monitor account activity, identify trends, and recommend improvements for bookkeeping procedures. Utilize technical accounting knowledge for complex transactions or special projects requiring detailed analysis or adjustments. Assist with calls & scheduling, Service titan & crew control Qualifications Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably within corporate or non-profit settings. Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks. Solid understanding of accounting principles including GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting. Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and tax experience is desirable. Excellent skills in bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, account analysis, and financial report writing. Ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently for data entry tasks. Knowledge of payroll processing procedures and related tax requirements. Strong attention to detail coupled with analytical thinking skills for accurate account analysis and problem-solving. Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and prepare clear financial documentation. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
