Job Description
Description We are looking for a Bookkeeper to join a short-term Contract assignment in Indianapolis, Indiana. This opportunity is ideal for someone who can step into an active project, bring financial records into order, and improve the accuracy of day-to-day bookkeeping data. The position will focus on reviewing existing entries, resolving inconsistencies, and preparing clean, reliable information for reporting and audit readiness.
Responsibilities:
- Examine QuickBooks records in detail and update transactions to improve completeness and accuracy.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card activity to ensure balances match supporting documentation.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, including processing invoices, tracking payments, and maintaining current account information.
- Investigate accounting inconsistencies and make corrections to restore dependable financial data.
- Maintain organized financial files and supporting records for easy retrieval and review.
- Prepare financial reports for leadership as requested, highlighting relevant account activity and balances.
- Verify that accounting information is structured properly for future reporting needs and potential audit review. Requirements
- Hands-on experience using QuickBooks, including Desktop, Online, or both environments.
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping fundamentals, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
- Demonstrated ability to identify errors in financial records and correct them efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage records accurately and consistently.
- Effective organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work in a deadline-driven setting.
- Capability to work independently while maintaining quality and timeliness of deliverables.
