Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Part-Time Bookkeeper and bring your expertise in financial management to a vibrant organization dedicated to making a difference. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your skills in accounting and bookkeeping within a flexible schedule, supporting our mission through accurate financial record-keeping and reporting. You'll play a vital part in maintaining the integrity of our financial data, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting with essential financial processes that keep our organization thriving. Duties Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions. Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger account analysis to verify the accuracy of financial data. Prepare and process journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions while ensuring proper debits & credits are applied according to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Reconcile balance sheets through detailed review of account statements, ensuring all discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly. Assist with payroll processing, tax preparation, and governmental accounting requirements to ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Generate financial reports including income statements, cash flow reports, and budget analyses to support organizational decision-making. Support budgeting processes by analyzing expenses and revenue streams, providing insights for future planning. Qualifications Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, ideally within corporate or non-profit settings. Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; experience with GAAP is highly desirable. Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting. Knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processing. Ability to perform detailed account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation accurately. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a part-time capacity. Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and tax experience is a plus.
