ABOUT THE JOB

Our small neighborhood bookstore is looking for a dependable Shop Assistant to help keep our shelves organized and assist local readers. This is a quiet, clean, and stable entry-level position perfect for beginners. No prior retail or book industry experience is required because we provide full training on our daily store routine.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Welcome visitors as they enter the shop and answer simple questions. Help unbox weekly shipments and place books onto the correct shelves. Keep the reading tables, displays, and main counter clean and tidy. Assist customers with finding specific book sections or authors.

WHAT I NEED FROM YOU

Polite manners, a friendly attitude, and a neat appearance. Strong reliability—arriving on time for your scheduled shifts is required. Basic computer comfort to look up book titles in our simple system.
