About the
Role:
The Breakfast Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring guests have a positive and satisfying start to their day by providing exceptional breakfast service in a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. This position is responsible for preparing and replenishing breakfast items, maintaining cleanliness in the dining area, and delivering attentive customer service to meet diverse guest needs. The Breakfast Attendant contributes to the overall guest experience by promptly addressing requests and ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are consistently upheld. This role requires collaboration with kitchen and housekeeping teams to ensure smooth operations during breakfast hours. Ultimately, the Breakfast Attendant helps create a warm and inviting atmosphere that encourages guest satisfaction and repeat visits.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in food service or hospitality preferred but not required. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds. Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. Strong communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused attitude.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a hotel or restaurant breakfast service environment. Food Handler's Certification or equivalent food safety training. Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse guest population. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems or inventory management. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:
Set up and replenish breakfast buffet items including hot and cold foods, beverages, and condiments throughout the service period. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the breakfast area, including tables, counters, and dining utensils. Greet guests warmly, respond to inquiries, and accommodate special dietary requests or preferences. Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring all items meet health and safety standards. Collaborate with kitchen and housekeeping staff to ensure timely restocking and cleanliness. Report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to management promptly. Assist with closing duties such as cleaning and storing food items and resetting the area for the next service.Skills:
The Breakfast Attendant uses strong interpersonal and communication skills daily to engage with guests and ensure their needs are met promptly and courteously. Attention to detail is critical when preparing and replenishing food items to maintain high standards of presentation and hygiene. Time management and organizational skills are essential to balance multiple tasks such as food preparation, cleaning, and guest service during busy breakfast hours. Physical stamina and manual dexterity enable the attendant to perform repetitive tasks and handle equipment safely.
