Job Description We are seeking a Product Design Engineer to join our team and lead product development efforts from concept through production. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to design innovative, cost-effective, and manufacturable products while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and engineering standards. This position is ideal for a hands-on mechanical engineer who thrives in a manufacturing environment and has experience with product design, new product development, and industrial equipment. Key Responsibilities Execute the Product Design & Development (PDD) process from concept through production release. Design and develop mechanical products and components using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling tools. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and operations teams to ensure designs are cost-effective and manufacturable. Create, maintain, and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs). Support new product development initiatives and continuous product improvements. Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles throughout the design process. Develop detailed drawings, models, and engineering documentation. Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and engineering standards. Participate in prototype evaluation, testing, and design validation activities. Provide engineering support during production launch and ongoing manufacturing operations. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline. Minimum of 2 years of experience in product design, mechanical design, or design for manufacturing. Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Experience with 3D modeling and engineering documentation. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles. Experience developing and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs). Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with industrial equipment or machinery design. Knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication. Experience managing projects through the full product development lifecycle. Exposure to manufacturing, fabrication, welding, or machining environments. Work Environment This is an onsite position with flexibility for occasional remote work related to personal appointments or family commitments. Following six months of employment, team members are eligible for one remote workday per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday). The role operates within a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to machinery, moving mechanical parts, welding and machining operations, airborne particles, varying temperatures, elevated noise levels, and other industrial conditions. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $105000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
