Medical Assistant - Podiatry | Learn, Grow & Build Your Clinical Skills Full-Time | Springfield & Bellefontaine, OH Monday-Thursday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Friday | 8:00 AM-Noon No evenings or weekends! $17-$19/hour, based on experience Build Your Clinical Skills in Podiatry Are you a Medical Assistant who wants to learn, grow, and do more? Complete Foot & Ankle Specialists is looking for two motivated Medical Assistants to join our clinical teams in Springfield and Bellefontaine. We are a fast-paced, hands-on practice looking for MAs with a solid clinical foundation who are dependable, motivated, and excited to expand their knowledge. You don't need to know everything about podiatry when you walk through our doors. We are looking for someone who is willing to learn. This is more than simply rooming patients and taking vital signs. You'll have the opportunity to develop skills in wound care, diabetic foot care, procedures, DME, orthotics, patient education, and many other areas of podiatry. What You'll Do Our clinical team is very hands-on, and patient education is a big part of this position . You will work closely with our physicians and patients throughout the day while learning and developing new clinical skills.
Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and treatments
Identify patients who need diabetic foot exams, initiate the clinical portion of the exam, and assist physicians with ongoing diabetic patient care
Perform wound dressing changes and assist with hands-on wound care; educate and reinforce wound-care instructions with patients
Take photographs of wounds before and after examination and treatment
Educate and reinforce physician instructions regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, wound care, medications, and home-care instructions
Learn to dispense and educate patients on DME, including proper use and care
Learn to scan, dispense, fit, and educate patients on orthotics when appropriate
Prepare patients and procedure rooms for examinations and procedures
Obtain medical histories, vital signs, and other clinical information
Prepare and sterilize instruments
Stock and maintain exam and procedure rooms
Collect and prepare lab specimens for transport
Maintain clean, organized clinical spaces and clinical supplies
Help keep patient flow moving efficiently in a fast-paced practice
Continue learning and developing your knowledge and skills in podiatric medicine What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is dependable, willing to learn, and excited to become a strong member of our clinical team.
1+ year of clinical Medical Assistant experience preferred
Medical Assistant certification preferred
Strong clinical and patient-care foundation
Comfortable working directly with patients
Self-starter who takes initiative
Dependable and reliable
Works well with others and contributes positively to the team
Able to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Organized and detail-oriented
Willingness to learn new skills and expand knowledge of podiatric medicine
Able to accept direction and feedback and apply it to improve patient care
Willingness to travel between our Springfield and Bellefontaine locations when needed
