A buffet attendant is a hospitality professional responsible for setting up, maintaining, and replenishing food stations while ensuring a clean, inviting, and well-stocked dining environment. They act as a key liaison between the kitchen and dining room to guarantee operational efficiency and high customer satisfaction Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Completes all assigned opening and closing side work to prepare buffet, kitchen and service stations for efficient operation during meal period. Prepare and arrange the food line with appropriate serving utensils, dishware, and proper food labels prior to opening. Monitor food levels and temperatures continuously, bringing out fresh pans from the kitchen as items run low. Adheres to all restaurant policies and procedures paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures. Wiping down spills, removing trash, and sanitizing surfaces regularly. Cleans and polishes glass shelves and doors of service bars and equipment such as coffee urns and cream and milk dispensers. Greet patrons, answer questions about menu ingredients, and assist with any special requests. Clear dirty plates, reset tables, and restock napkins, silverware, and glassware as needed. Reports any problems or discrepancies to management immediately.Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Math Ability:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Work Environment:
