Sales Engineer / Estimator (Building Automation) 📍 Detroit, Michigan 💰 $130K-$150K+ base (DOE) + commission potential - $200K+

What You Will Do:
As a Sales Engineer/Estimator, you will build and manage customer relationships, understand project requirements, and provide tailored automation solutions. You'll play a key role in the sales cycle and estimation process, ensuring accurate proposals and profitable project outcomes.
How You Will Do It:
Strengthen your technical knowledge of
BAS, HVAC
controls, and industry standardsDevelop and execute strategies to meet annual sales and growth targetsPrepare detailed estimates, proposals, bill of materials, and tender submissionsReview drawings, specifications, and site conditions to build accurate cost modelsLead negotiations to secure profitable projects and ensure timely payment collectionDeliver monthly reporting on sales performance, pipeline activity, and customer satisfactionIdentify customer needs, generate new leads, and maintain long-term client partnershipsMonitor competitor activity and report market insights to support strategic positioningWork closely with project teams to ensure accurate handoff and successful project deliveryFollow all company policies, procedures, and compliance standards with integrity
What We Look For:
Experience in Building Automation, HVAC controls, or technical sales/estimatingStrong understanding of drawings, specifications, and project scopesSelf-motivated, proactive, and results-driven with a true hunter mentalityExcellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skillsAbility to translate customer needs into complete technical solutionsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids and accountsFluent in spoken and written English
