Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 5 years of professional experience Preferred Qualifications Position Summary This is highly skilled technical work involving operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting all building automated systems and components for campus high containment Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3, ABSL-3, and ABSL-3Ag) facilities and laboratories. In addition, the Building Automation Specialist Technician will facilitate preventative and corrective maintenance on all mechanical systems, identify structural and mechanical repairs, assist with Annual Performance Verifications (APV), generate reports, escort contractors, assist with facility related alarms and facility emergency response, assist FMD with Veterinary Biosciences Facility and Riverbend South APV, including facility decontamination. This position will assist in writing and editing standard operating procedures as needed. This position will work closely with FMD and AHRC Administration to maintain compliance with regulatory bodies and achieve goals and objectives of the facility. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Knowledge at journeyman level of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and/or structural maintenance fields.
- Prior experience with Siemens BAS software and hardware
- Ability to think critically under pressure
- Able to perform maintenance on building systems and their components as needed and understand how automated building systems work
- Able to read, understand, and maintain paperwork, generate reports, and operate reporting software

registration- Maintain Occupational Health Enrollment Physical Demands 1.

administration, and FMD. Works in other software programs (Microsoft Office, Siemens Apogee, and ALC controls). Writes and updates facility SOPs as needed. Other duties to assist in overarching goals of each facility. Percentage of time 10 Duties/Responsibilities Assists with contacting, scheduling, and escorting contractors for regularly scheduled preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs or installations.
