Job Description
We are looking for a Building Inspector I ! Put your construction and code knowledge to work inspecting all phases of building projects in Branson. From plan reviews to site inspections, no two days are the same—and your expertise helps keep our city safe and growing strong! What does a day "in the life" look like for this role? Conduct building inspections and minor plan reviews for code compliance. Inspect new construction, renovations, and repairs for quality and safety to verify construction aligns with approved plans and adopted codes. Read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings. Maintain accurate records of inspection activities and findings. What are the Minimum Required Qualifications To Be Considered? A High School diploma or GED equivalent. Three (3) years of experience in the construction trades. Possess or be able to obtain within one (1) year of hire date, a minimum of one (1) of the following inspection certifications: International Code Council (ICC) Building, ICC Plumbing, ICC Electrical, ICC Residential, or ICC Mechanical. Certification must be current and maintained during term of employment. A valid driver's license and be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position is required. Must possess no felony convictions at any time while employed by the City of Branson. Act safely and follow safety standards while at work. Be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings. What will set you apart and give you a "leg up" on the competition? Graduation from an accredited technical school program in the construction trades. Prior building inspection experience.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
