Building Maintenance Assistant- On Call

Overview We are seeking a proactive and dependable Building Maintenance Assistant (On Call) to join our facilities team. This dynamic role involves providing essential maintenance support across our residential and commercial properties, ensuring all buildings operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently. As an on-call team member, you will respond promptly to maintenance requests, troubleshoot issues, and perform repairs that keep our facilities in top condition. Duties Respond swiftly to on-call maintenance requests for residential and commercial properties, addressing issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general building operations. Conduct inspections of facilities to identify potential hazards or maintenance needs proactively. Perform repairs using welding techniques, electrical troubleshooting with schematics, and mechanical knowledge to resolve diverse building issues. Utilize Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Ohmmeters to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems effectively. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Assist with facilities upkeep tasks such as painting, basic carpentry, and equipment servicing to ensure a safe and welcoming environment. Supervise or coordinate with vendors or contractors when specialized repairs or services are required, ensuring quality work and safety compliance. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance or building repair roles with a strong mechanical background. Knowledge of schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical systems troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with welding, residential painting, and general carpentry is highly desirable. Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), CMMS software, and Ohmmeters for diagnostics. Strong understanding of electrical systems with the ability to read schematics confidently. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate clearly in English. Supervising or leadership experience is a plus for coordinating maintenance activities effectively. Ability to work independently during on-call shifts while maintaining safety standards at all times.
