Business Analyst

Summary/Objective A fast-growing, fast-paced manufacturing start-up is seeking a Business Analyst to provide analytical and accounting support. Under the guidance of the Controller, responsible for collecting and researching data, performing analysis, providing recommendations, and presenting results. Some accounting will also be part of this role. Essential Function

• Develop, deliver, and refine ad hoc analysis, financial models, and business cases to support a rapidly changing business environment.
• Provides financial analysis, forecast, and insights to aid in decision making and communicate financial results to business leaders and the finance management team.
• Provide clear margin analysis at the customer, product, and channel levels.
• Understanding of components driving margin (volume, price, and cost).
• Support month-end reporting to business leaders.
• P&L Results (sales, margin, and opex).
• Forecast update / identifying items not visible in the numbers driving the forecast.
• Provides financial justification for proposed investments and assesses their potential impact on the company's financial performance.
• Support data needs for business leaders and finance leaders.
• Provide leadership for projects with a small scope.
• Gain experience and build skills through on-the-job learning and guidance.
• Inventory control and tracking.
• Building BOMs for R&D projects.
• Some accounting responsibilities, including purchase orders, revenue accruals, and product costing. Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or accounting.
• At least 2 years in an FP&A role.
• Sophisticated knowledge of Microsoft O365 (especially Excel).
• Microsoft Power BI experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and modeling skills, and comfortable combining multiple data sources.
• Effective and professional communicator comfortable presenting to all levels of leadership.
• Ability to work in a team environment of hard-working colleagues.

Pay:

$69,424.28 - $83,607.73 per year
