The Business Education Alliance Coordinator services as the primary contact and strategist for Monroe County's Business & Education Alliance, coordinating efforts among K12 schools, businesses, workforce agencies, and community organizations to expand career-connected learning and create clear pathways into high-demand careers. Supported by district participation and grant funding, the Coordinator builds partnerships, addresses gaps in work-based learning, leads strategic planning, and serves as the primary resource for information on career pathways and postsecondary opportunities.Typical Duties:
Regional Coordination & Partnership Development Convene and lead the Monroe County BEA Steering Committee. Facilitate the development and ongoing implementation of a countywide strategic plan for the Business Education Alliance, aligned with regional economic development and workforce priorities. Build and sustain strong working relationships with K12 school districts, BOCES, chambers of commerce, business and industry partners, workforce development agencies, higher education institutions, and community-based organizations. Partner closely with chambers of commerce and economic development organizations to understand current and emerging regional talent and labor needs and to support alignment and prioritize MCBEA efforts accordingly. Career Pathways & Work-Based Learning Development Survey and analyze the regional landscape to identify existing career awareness, career exploration, work-based learning, and pathway opportunities offered by employers, workforce agencies, and community partners. Develop and maintain a comprehensive, centralized inventory of career-connected learning and work-based learning opportunities accessible to school districts. Identify gaps where industry demand exists but student career exploration or work-based learning opportunities are limited and, where appropriate, support the creation or expansion of opportunities aligned to high-demand industries. Serve as a regional support resource for district-based work-based learning coordinators and career readiness staff, to reduce duplication and increase impact. Communication, Outreach & Resource Sharing Utilize and enhance existing communication channels to disseminate information to educators, counselors, administrators, families, students, and business partners across Monroe County. Develop and implement a coordinated communication strategy to increase awareness of career pathways, work-based learning opportunities, and postsecondary options. Manage digital systems (e.g., shared platforms or websites) to ensure resources are current, well organized, and easily accessible. Act as a single-entry point for business and industry partners seeking to engage with K12 schools around career pathways, advisement, and workforce preparation. Funding, Sustainability & Operations Seek and manage grant funding and other financial resources to support the sustainability and growth of the MCBEA. Collaborate with the local workforce development agency and other partners on funding alignment and shared initiatives. Support budgeting, reporting, and event logistics for MCBEA activities. Collaborate with workforce agencies and partners to plan and support regional career awareness and career exploration events. Additional Responsibilities Participate in relevant regional, state, and national networks related to workforce development, talent strategy, career-connected learning, and work-based learning. Collect, analyze, and share data related to MCBEA activities and outcomes. Perform other related duties consistent with the scope and responsibilities of the position, as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
:Education and Certification:
Associate or bachelor's degree required in Human Resources, Workforce Development, Education, Public Administration, Business, or a related field preferred. NYSED Certification as a School Administrator, OR designated Civil Service title Specialized training or coursework in talent acquisition, career development, or work-based learning is highly desirable.Experience:
35 years of experience in talent acquisition, workforce development, work-based learning, or a closely related field. Demonstrated experience building partnerships across education, business, and community sectors strongly preferred.
