ANTICIPATED START DATE

LOCATION:
Affton High School DETAILS:
9½-month professional position (1.0 FTE) for the 2026-27 school year, with paid sick and personal leave. District-provided benefits package that includes health, dental, life and vision insurance.
COMPENSATION
Salary for this position is in accordance with the 2026-27 Teacher Salary Schedule . Placement is determined by education and like experience in accordance with board policy.
JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate will be part of high-energy and enthusiastic teams of professionals, dedicated to meeting the academic, social and emotional needs of students. Successful candidates are reliable, show initiative, are self-motivated, and self-directed. Must be able to work with all students and staff to provide academic, social and behavior support for the school.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in education Appropriate Missouri teaching certification in Business Education (9-12) required Prior teaching experience in a school setting at the secondary level is preferred The ability to produce engaging lessons in person and in a virtual setting is required The ability to listen well and take initiative to solve problems is required Strong organizational skills and self-motivation are required The ability to work with a multi-ethnic, multicultural student population is required The ability to remain flexible and positive with the demands and assignments of the job without losing sight of the mission, task or assignment is required The ability to work independently, use good judgment and think quickly and rationally in stressful situations is required The ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and interact positively with students, staff, administration, and the community is required The ability to work as a team player, communicate and collaborate with administration, staff and other professionals is required The willingness to learn new material and attend professional development, conferences and workshops is required For more information regarding Teacher duties and responsibilities, please view the Teacher (K-12) Job Description .
