Candidate profile and required skills Security-related project experience (less security management; more hands-on/field-aligned): Incident/instance management; low-voltage security system installation. Access control, intrusion detection, and video management systems (installation, design, maintenance).

Construction/installation project background helpful:

Reading blueprints; coordinating with trades (electricians, general contractors, IT/telecom vendors). Preferred but not required certifications (e.g., PMP); familiarity with lean, agile, and waterfall methodologies is a plus.

Experience level:

open to all, with a preference for mid to advanced; strong beginners considered based on overall fit. Service areas, sites, and travel realities Primary regional focus: Region 1: North Coast. Region 2: Sierra Nevada North Valley (upper region). Workload in North Coast is a little less than North Valley/North Sierra. To reduce "windshield time," preference for candidates within ~50 miles of Santa Rosa or Chico; willing to consider slightly outside. Driving realities can be significant due to remote/complex sites (e.g., additional winding dam roads), turning 2-2.5 hour drives into 4-6 hours from distant bases.

Typical site types:

service centers (office environments), maintenance yards, fleet buildings, hydro dams and reservoirs, electrical substations, IT/telecom relay stations, gas charging locations. Work often radiates 100-150 miles from the candidate's base location. Typical weekly responsibilities Intake and planning: Work assigned via an intake system and/or special projects; conduct initial site walks (intake) to define needs and solutions. Review/develop designs and installation plans; determine scope.

Vendor and stakeholder coordination:

Engage vendors; coordinate access, safety equipment, and technical capabilities. Overwatch vendor work on site; coordinate with local teams and trades.

Procurement and financials:

Update and track POs (purchase orders), invoices, budgets. Manage PRs/RFPs (purchase requests/requests for proposals), active proposals, and closeouts.

Meetings and travel:

Frequent intake, project update, and vendor meetings. Travel 1-2 days/week; trips can range from 2-3 hours to a full day. Monthly in-person team meeting (typically San Ramon; this month in Oakland).

Safety:

Heavy emphasis on safety culture and regular safety engagement. Tools, systems, and methodologies Access control/video management experience is valuable across brands; two main products mentioned: AMAG and Genetech. Experience with other systems (e.g., Honeywell, Linnell, HID) also valuable. Practical understanding of installation realities (e.g., 120V AC power needs; coordination with electricians) is important.
