Job Description
Advertisement for Board Members (Volunteer) Cherry Hill Development Corporation (CHDC) is seeking Board Members who will serve a minimum two (2) year term and assist CHDC in achieving its Vision of leading the transformation of the Cherry Hill community into a community full of opportunities and rich with resources where families of all socioeconomic backgrounds can live harmoniously. The Board of Directors meets every fourth Tuesday of each month to govern and oversee the manaagement and operation of the Corporation. All Board Members are expected to serve on at least two Committees and attend Committee meetings as required. All Board members are required to assist with fundraising activities.
The Corporation:
CHDC is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and a longstanding member of the Cherry Hill community, which aims to serve the community and address the needs of families that reside there. Established in 1981, CHDC has consistently promoted economic development and invested in providing quality and affordable housing, commercial development, and quality education. Since its inception, CHDC has been instrumental in representing the community on issues affecting Cherry Hill families' quality of life, including land use and comprehensive planning, real estate development, public safety, education, transportation, and public infrastructure. Throughout its history, CHDC has established effective partnerships with the Baltimore City government, elected officials, state agencies, and the neighboring community associations, philanthropic organizations, and private developers to effect positive change within the community.The Role:
Provide technical and professional input, advice, and guidance to promote home ownership in Cherry Hill. Participate fully in decision-making activities. Raise the profile of CHDC in the community. Build relationships with all community partners and other stakeholders.Qualifications:
