Director of Mission Impact

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Director of Mission Impact is responsible for planning, coordinating, and evaluating the procurement of gifts and grants to fund Mosaic's mission and activities. This staff member works under the supervision of the CEO and in collaboration with members of the board of directors.

Planning fundraising strategies and activities Executing fundraising activities Evaluating such activities to measure the impact on the Center's mission
EXAMPLES OF WORK
Planning for the Center's fundraising strategies and activities Assisting the CEO, board, and staff in identifying funding needs Developing and recommending fundraising strategies to the CEO and board Preparing an annual fund-raising plan to meet the goals established Researching and identifying potential funding sources among individuals, organizations, corporations, and foundations Providing consultation to the CEO, board members and board committees charged with any activities related to fundraising Coordinating the Center's fund-raising activities Manages the Community Engagement Coordinator role to ensure Mosaic maintains an appropriate public profile Coordinate with all interested parties, to plan the events and activities that raise funds for the Center Serve as a philanthropic coach to Mosaic's staff, senior leadership and board members in ways that drive support of our work, improve relationships and desired outcomes Coordinating the development of all print, digital or other materials needed for fund-raising Managing Mosaic's relationship with donors and donor organizations Preparing grant requests and providing reports to grantors Respond to board member inquiries, assist board members in identifying opportunities to connect the mission to funding opportunities Evaluating such activities to measure the impact on the Center's mission In partnership with the board of directors, senior leadership and the CEO, utilize core pillar goals and dashboards to assess, communicate and make necessary adjustments to fundraising plans, activities and outcomes. Assisting the CEO in evaluation of the fundraising results of the current year in preparation for setting the funding goals and programs for the coming year In partnership with the committee chair, utilize the Growth Pillar Committee to achieve fundraising plans and goals.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of an accredited college or university or comparable experience Experience in procuring resources to support non-profit work Knowledge of development in a not-for-profit setting An understanding of not-for-profit management, including use of current technology Ability to organize own workload, take initiative, and carry out directives Ability to motivate and support the work of board members and volunteers Ability to communicate persuasively, report clearly, and plan strategically Position-Specific Demands This position performs the majority of work indoors, with some outdoor work during special events. Job duties require the ability to remain in a stationary position between 50-80% of the time worked; the ability to traverse the office area; constantly operate office machinery such as computers, calculators, faxes and printers. Duties also require the ability to lift, push, pull or move items up to approximately 30 pounds. Occasionally, an individual in the position might find the need to kneel, stoop, crouch or traverse tight spaces. The position requires the individual to be able to communicate frequently using appropriate senses in order to detect, discern, identify, recognize, judge, observe, estimate, inspect or assess details of the work environment. The individual in this position could be exposed to changes in climate when working outdoors; and be subject to tension, stress and difficult situations from time to time. Occasionally, the individual could be exposed to hazardous chemicals such as inks, toners, cleaning chemicals or similar. Exposure to blood/bodily fluids and bloodborne pathogens is expected to be rare.
