Job Description

Summary:
The improvement specialist functions as a leader and experienced facilitator for all aspects of Lean implementation across the Guthrie system. Critical functions include the following but not limited to; leading entity and system cross-departmental improvement initiatives and partnerships with leader stakeholders to identifying new operational or strategic opportunities for improvement or redesign. Participates and helps drive the Objective and Key Results management process for the Guthrie System. Actively leads professional growth and development of internal improvement team members in collaboration with the Director and training educator.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years' experience with process improvement at an enterprise level. Experience in driving Lean initiatives and/or Objectives and Key Results (OKR) with demonstrated sustainment. (Healthcare related experience with team leadership experience, preferred) Experience deploying large scale change management that supports enterprise transformation.
Education:
Master's degree in health care administration, Nursing, Business, Industrial Engineering, or another related field preferred. Combination of experience, education and specialty certifications will be considered in leu of degree.
Licenses:
Lean certification preferred. OKR coach certification required within 3 months of hire Project manager certification within 15 months of hire Change management certification preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong facilitation skills in managing senior stakeholder relationship, partnership & interactions. Demonstrated ability to lead high impact or strategic initiatives. Strong conflict resolution/management/mediation and consensus building skills. Able to communicate and present effectively in situations requiring decision making, conflict resolution, and coaching. This includes both oral and written communication. Demonstrated sustainment of large-scale change efforts.
Essential Functions:
Improvement Events Facilitates entity and system level objectives and key results and supporting sustainment activities (LMS). Leads high-impact improvement events ensuring standard work is adhered to for adequate planning, preparation, and follow-through. Assures measurement and tracking of outcomes as a key function of sustainment. Internal Development Provides guidance and coaching for internal team on process improvement initiatives. Collaborates with internal team on execution and sustainment of activities related to organizational change management. Improvement/Change Management Deployment Supports planning and deployment and cascade of entity/system goals. Facilitate change required to enable deployment of Objectives and Key Results for the System. Deployment of change management practices needed to effectively drive high-impact or strategic improvements throughout the organization. Leadership Coaching Assist executive level management in developing and deploying leadership standard work. Provide executive leaders with the necessary coaching to become effective daily problem solvers. Supports leadership with planning and implementing large-scale or high-impact process improvement and strategic initiatives. #LI-RS1
