PURPOSE The Manager, Organizational Change Management and Adoption is responsible for ensuring that strategic transformations are successfully adopted across the internal Sylvamo organization. This role drives the people side of change by preparing leaders, teams, and end users for new ways of working, leveraging first pilots to then design scalable training approaches to build capability and sustain long-term adoption for other functional experts and leaders in Sylvamo. The role partners closely with project teams, technical experts, and leaders to bring clarity, consistency, and readiness to every initiative. This role oversees a team of change consultant(s), training expert(s), and third-party partner(s) to develop enterprise-wide practices, training strategies, and certification pathways that elevate Sylvamo's maturity in how it prepares for, manages, and sustains change across global operations. Sylvamo roots our organizational change management efforts in the Prosci Methodology and ADKAR™ model, including an Enterprise Agreement to empower the change team to design and deliver Sylvamo-specific change education and delivery as well as initiative change management delivery towards specific business objectives.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Change Strategy and Planning:
Drive Sylvamo's strategy and proposed design for internal organizational change management culture and Practice of Change Design an enterprise strategy for a change management practice, including sustained delivery within the organization and cultural change agility across functions Establish enterprise frameworks, delivery standards, and reusable toolkits (communications plans, sponsor roadmaps, coaching plans, resistance plans, training plans) Create an internal training program for internal-Sylvamo change practitioners as well as internal upskilling offerings for leaders, teams and project managers

  • to build internal change capability Develop and execute comprehensive change strategies and plans for initiatives within the IT organization Establish best practices for organizational change management including actionable procedures such as communications plans, sponsor roadmaps, coaching plans, training plans, resistance management plans Conduct impact assessments to understand the effects of changes on various stakeholders and organizational units Consider change impacts at global, regional, functional, and mill levels including union resources, as applicable Identify key stakeholders and develop a stakeholder engagement plan to ensure their involvement and support throughout the change management process
Leadership and Team Management:
Set change team expectations, define delivery standards, and drive towards consistent application of change practices across all initiatives Provide coaching, oversight and quality assurance on change assessments, communication strategies, stakeholder engagement and training plans Foster a growth-oriented culture within the team, emphasizing learning, reflection, continuous improvement and consistency in approach
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with third-party experts in the change management space to apply best practices across initiatives Enable change management efforts by working with human resources, corporate communications, innovation, and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth adoption of initiatives Develop and deliver clear, concise, and effective change communication plans and materials to ensure stakeholders are informed and engaged, including working with mill and functional teams to govern plans for change-related content such as newsletters, presentations, and FAQs. Engage translation support as required to ensure messaging reaches teams across regions as per budget availability Act as a point of contact for change-related inquiries, consultations, and improvements
Training and Support:
Lead training expert who is responsible to develop and work towards standardized training approaches across transformation initiatives ensuring consistency in methods, expectations, delivery, quality, and training governance Partner with training teams, learning leaders, vendors and project teams to define role-based learning journeys and scalable training toolkits to support Transformation and assigned IT efforts Ensure training programs are practical, accessible, and aligned with site-level realities Support people leaders in preparing their teams for new ways of working, including coaching on resistance, communication and reinforcement
Monitoring and Improvement:
Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of change management efforts and the adoption of new processes and technologies Monitor and report on progress, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement Gather feedback on the change management process and use it to continuously improve strategies and approaches Stay current with industry best practices and trends in change management and transformation, including Sylvamo-external conferences and organizations
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
The essential requirements of the job include: Minimum of 8+ years of experience required Proven management experience in cross-location, cross-language settings Bachelor's degree in business administration, organizational development, marketing, communications, or related field Prior global change management experience Prior digital transformation experience Prior management of third-party resources Prosci change management certified Union environment experience Strong understanding of change management principles and methodologies in global environment Strong presentation development and facilitation skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization Ability to balance multiple requests and know when to ask for assistance Highly organized and self-starter Strong understanding of IT space
