Job Description

The Business Continuity Manager (Business Continuity Analyst is the official NJM job title) will work closely with the program leadership team, partner organizations, technical staff, and business units to define and apply NJM's business continuity management objectives. With strong communication, relationship building, technical and leadership skills, the Analyst will partner with the Business Continuity team to integrate business continuity into a cohesive strategy. They will help to design and implement solutions that align with NJM's strategy and plan to effectively address business objectives and requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
BCP Program Governance Work with department leadership, to operationalize and coordinate the businesses continuity program including the department level business impact analysis, business continuity planning and procedures. Assist in the collaboration with business areas to develop and maintain a corporate wide BCM program that addresses business recovery and emergency response. Serve as the primary liaison with the business units in continuity planning. Facilitate, monitor and participate in business unit plan development sessions and meetings. Review planning documentation and verify implementation requirements based on overall program guidelines. Review, update and distribute development session and meeting notes. Organize resources with vendors to ensure planning efforts are efficiently managed with the business units. Track overall progress of business unit continuity planning and report to business continuity program management. Communication Collaborate with business areas to ensure lessons learned result in actionable steps that are incorporated into future plan updates. Track overall progress of business unit continuity planning and report status to business continuity program leadership. Coordinate, schedule, and lead BCP Steering Committee meeting sessions and content. Develop Board of Director meeting material as required. Planning & Execution Assess business unit continuity plan components for compliance with corporate program requirements. Evaluate and validate stated plan dependencies and relationships between business units. Validate and synchronize business unit Recovery Time Objectives in the business unit plans. Monitor business unit plan maintenance requirements and coordinate updating. Document and standardize business continuity activities related to the implementation of business unit planning. Develop standard reporting format for working sessions, exercises and other meetings. Develop standard formatting and coordinate the distribution of the business unit plans and the corporate business continuity plan. Testing & Exercises Assist with the design and implementation of business continuity tests and exercises. Develop notification templates and test the Emergency Notification System. Evaluate the results and develop recommendations to improve the program. Communicate results to the business units, business continuity program management and the general employee population as applicable. Perform administrative functions such as setting security rights, creating and monitoring imports, and customizing database fields to meet business unit needs. Develop, coordinate and conduct basic training programs for new users and refresher training.
Required Qualifications:
Experience with developing and implementing initiatives. Strong risk awareness, including operational, compliance and reputational risk. Work independently and as part of a team to achieve objectives. Strategic thinker with problem‑solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills High school diploma or
GED Preferred Qualifications:
College Degree or 1-5 years of relevant work experience. 1-5 years of business continuity, project management, or business control experience.
Compensation:
Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials.
Pay Range:
$83,741
  • 97,178 Eligible full-time employees receive a competitive Total Rewards package, including but not limited to a 401(k) with employer match up to 8% and additional service-based contributions, Health, Dental, and Vision insurance, Life and Disability coverage, generous PTO, Paid Sick Leave, and paid parental leave in addition to state-mandated leave.
