Resiliency, BCM, DR Consultant

Description We are looking for an experienced Resiliency, BCM, and Disaster Recovery Consultant to join our team in Austin, Texas. In this long-term contract role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring operational resiliency and business continuity within a large banking environment. Your expertise will help drive compliance with regulatory standards, address gaps in current processes, and support the development of robust risk management solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and align the bank's standards and policies with regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with various lines of business to confirm the implementation of operational resiliency and business continuity standards.
• Challenge and validate business impact assumptions to strengthen risk management frameworks.
• Develop and refine closure packages related to operational resiliency and business continuity to address Matters Requiring Attention (MRAs).
• Analyze and address potential threat scenarios to enhance crisis management and preparedness.
• Provide detailed reviews and recommendations on work performed, including closure packages and documentation.
• Formulate solutions and establish processes to remediate operational resiliency gaps and deficiencies.
• Work closely with first and second lines of defense to ensure accountability and proper execution of risk management strategies.
• Support the creation of explanations and responses to regulators regarding missed deadlines and corrective actions.
• Contribute to the development and sustainability of operational resiliency functions across multiple work streams. Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in operational resiliency, business continuity, or disaster recovery within the banking sector.
• Strong familiarity with regulatory standards and policies, including experience addressing MRAs.
• Proficiency in tools such as Archer, Bloomberg Terminal, CobiT, Concur, and CRM systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in auditing, compliance, and risk management.
• Knowledge of capital management, claim administration, and credit processes.
• Ability to analyze and challenge business impact assumptions effectively.
• Experience crafting detailed closure packages and supporting regulatory communications.
• Previous experience as a regulator or in regulatory environments is a plus.
