55 For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States. NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP). Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an "at-will" relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.

Duties:
The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of management and program analysis which address management issues and priorities that are of significance to NPS. Within the context of broad regulatory guidelines, the enrollee refines and develops specific guidelines and criteria in order to measure and improve the effectiveness and productivity of NPS management activities and program operations Analyzing and evaluating the efficiency of internal administrative operations, organizations, and/or management activities occurring within the Alaska Regional Office Operations Team 20% Analyze and evaluate management policies, procedures, guidelines, and processes. Recommends changes that meet agency and bureau initiatives and strategic objectives, and ensure compliance with current laws, regulations, and policies. 20% Develop procedures and systems for assessing the effectiveness of management activities. 10% Prepares detailed action plans and schedules for long- and short-range project accomplishment and ensures that project plans are consistent with management goals and objectives. 10% Analyzes existing and new regulations, and/or program requirements to determine impact to program operations. Identifies resources (e.g., staff, funding, equipment, facilities) required to support program operations. 20% Advises management on a variety of opportunities and options to increase overall programmatic effectiveness. Assists with planning, coordinating, and developing budget proposals for various program areas. 20%
Qualifications:
HS/GED Degree with minimum additional experience of 10 year(s) in working with reference standards, policies, principles, and regulations; evaluating and analyzing data, development concepts, recommending solutions; communicating technical information orally and in writing; program specialist work involving the development and implementation of policy related to protection, conservation, or management of park areas or similar operations. Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat
