GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Investor Relations Analyst will support Investor Relations initiatives primarily through research and analysis. This position will research and interpret financial information, perform financial evaluations for senior management, research and answer questions from external analysts and shareholders, perform peer and industry benchmarking analysis, and assist in the preparation of reports, communications and presentations in support of investor relations projects and initiatives supporting both internal stakeholders. Strong Power Point presentation skills are mandatory. This role will require the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Research financial information and earnings reports, interpret data, conduct financial evaluations, and report findings to Senior Management. Actively participate in sell-side analyst discussions and maintain a detailed understanding of consensus estimates and the drivers behind those estimates.
  • Read and communicate relevant analyst research to the Investor Relations department. 2. Analyze stock performance and valuation relative to the peer group. Develop and maintain reporting on key peer comparison metrics.
  • Assist with monitoring changes and trends in investment markets and help determine appropriate Investor Relations strategies.
  • Regularly report on relevant industry news and competitor trends on a weekly and monthly basis. 3. Monitor the shareholder base and develop regular reporting on changes in the investor base, as well as potential investor targeting opportunities.
  • Document all investor communications in an organized and easily accessible manner.
  • Prepare reporting on changes in institutional ownership. Maintain and update the Investor Relations calendar. 4. Develop quarterly materials for earnings announcements, including preparation of the earnings release.
  • Monitor peer earnings calls for relevant investor concerns and questions. Work cross-functionally with internal subject matter experts to gather responses and supporting information.
  • Continuously develop, document, and prepare content for conference call scripts that support Murphy USA's messaging and strategy. 5. Prepare ad hoc charts, graphs, presentations, and other materials for Senior Management and the Board of Directors.
  • Translate data and complex business concepts into effective visuals that clearly communicate Murphy USA's performance.
  • Research a wide range of business-related topics and disciplines to support presentations and reporting.
  • Work independently, proactively learn unfamiliar subject matter, and deliver high-quality results in a deadline-driven environment. 6. Oversee the Investor Relations budget and evaluate the need for third-party services such as CRM platforms, AlphaSense, Bloomberg, and other research tools.
  • Review and process invoices while maintaining accurate records of payments and services.
  • Plan and coordinate travel for senior management conferences and investor roadshows.
  • Assess the value and effectiveness of third-party Investor Relations services and tools. 7. Develop and implement consistent Investor Relations messaging through contributions to the Annual Report, earnings releases, conference call materials, investor presentations, and Analyst Day strategy and content.
  • Communicate directly with investors and sell-side analysts when needed, requiring a strong understanding of company strategy, financial performance, and operational results.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
